Our stay was better than I had imagined, I would recommend Cradle Mountain Chateau to any and everyone. We have decided to come back in 6 months time and experience summer in the Chateau, we have been told this is the best time of the year. I say it would take alot to beat July at Cradle Mountain, but we will just have to find out for ourselves.

We got stuck in the hotel for a full day because of a heavy snowfall, but there was still plenty to do for the kids in both outdoors and indoors activities.

We loved the snowy nature views from our window, having a little balcony, where you could admire views in privacy of our room, friendly staff, nice food and the unique experience of sipping exotic cocktails on the snow!

The only downfall was the old spa that didn't want to make bubbles! It just was too weak for some reason and no matter what setting I was choosing it did not change the strength of the jets.

The location was excellent, we completed a beer tasting session with a staff member called Jamie he was excellent very entertaining and it was something different to do.

Only dissapointnent I had was we were put in the wrong room to start with. I then had to find my reciept to proove the room I had booked was different and we had to move all our things.

    scenery, snow

false advertising of a jacuzzi in the room when in reallity there was a small spa bath

We loved the professional friendly and personal service right from the front desk through to the lovely staff in dining and also the room servicing staff .. even the maintenance staff were friendly ..... it was great to feel special at all levels.

The mattress was a little too firm, a sheepskin or foam top would resolve that.

We joined the spotlight tour and it was finished at 8pm. However, the restaurant was closed at 8pm. The hotel staff help us to arrange the restaurant to extend the business hours to 9pm to facilitate us to have dinner after the sportlight tour. Much appreciated.

Lovely hotel - great, comfortable room. Beautiful location. Recommended. Excellent access to national park and walks.

The leather lounges were a bit 'cold'. The snooker table detracted from the ambience.

Very comfortable and in a handy position. Very helpful staff. Good restaurants. Very cosy bar area.

The only inconvenience was the amount of time it took to book out. There was only one person on the desk and quite a long queue.

the staff are fantastic, the rooms are wonderful and fabulously clean, the food was great, and all extras could be charged to the room, it's well worth the walk acroos the car park to the wilderness gallery. we were only there for one night but we had a great time and now we have a better idea of what is there we will definitely be back for a longer stay.

holiday wasn't long enough!! anyone on a budget needs to remember that you will need to allow extra funds for dinner, breakfast etc

    proximity to the wilderness.

only problem was the internet connection. Ideally I would not need an internet connection while on holiday, but there was a problem at work. although advertised WIFI, it was expensive ($1.00/6 minutes) and the timer kept ticking the credit away even though over 24 hours the link was mostly nonfunctional (ie stable for less than 3 minutes).

Sympathetic, elegant architecture for location. Comfortable accommodation minutes from Cradle Mountain National Park. Good service.

We enjoyed a very spacious room, reading by the fire in the central lounge with a cheese platter &breakfasts & dinners in the buffet. It was very conviently situted to all of our interests,we also enjoyed the gallery.

Sorry to say both meal & the service in the fine dinning room were disapointing,

The wait staff in the restaurant were delightful and extremely warm and helpful. The Thylacine display was interesting and informative.

I did not like the fact that the hotel did not have a courtesy shuttle to take patrons even the extremely short distance to and from the Cradle Mountain Visitor Information Service to the hotel. The Reception staff were also extremely unhelpful in determining alternative ways of getting to the hotel. The cost of the room was high, and yet all services were extra charges at a high rate. A pen was not included with the stationery to complete the evaluation form.We were looking for a special last evening before we began The Overland Track; Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The bathroom had a small shower and no bath. The only natural ventilation was by opening a full length screen door. As it was raining heavily this was impossible as it allowed rain to enter the room.
